Article#22 - Quotes of School And Educations

Winston Churchill (British Prime Minister during the World War II era)
"My education was interrupted only by my schooling."
"Schools have not necessarily much to do with education... they are mainly institutions of control, where basic habits must be inculcated in the young. Education is quite different and has little place in school."
Galileo Galilei (Italian physicist and astronomer)
"You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself."
George Santayana (Spanish-American philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist)
"A child educated only at school is an uneducated child."
Thomas Joseph Connelly (American clergyman)
"He who asks a question may be a fool for five minutes, but he who never asks a question remains a fool forever."
Albert Einstein (German-born theoretical physicist)
"A person who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new."
"Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school."
Frank Zappa (American composer, singer-songwriter, electric guitarist, record producer and film director)
"Drop out of school before your mind rots from exposure to our mundane educational system. Forget about the Senior Prom, go to the library and educate yourself if you've got any guts."
Gaius Petronius Arbiter (Roman courtier)
"I believe that school makes complete fools of our young men, because they see and hear nothing of ordinary life there."
Thomas Alva Edison (American inventor and businessman)
"I remember that I was never able to get along at school."
Agatha Christie (British novelwriter)
"I suppose it is because nearly all children go to school nowadays and have things arranged for them that they seem so forlornly unable to produce their own ideas."
Stephen Wright (American novelwriter)
"In school, they said Practice Makes Perfect, and then they said Nobody's Perfect, so I stopped practicing."
Margaret Mead (American cultural anthropologist)
"My grandmother wanted me to have an education, so she kept me out of school."
George Bernard Shaw (Irish playwright)
"My schooling not only failed to teach me what it professed to be teaching, but prevented me from being educated to an extent which infuriates me when I think of all I might have learned at home by myself."
William Glasser (American psychiatrist)
"There are only two places in the world where time takes precedence over the job to be done. School and prison."
This one was said to be quoted from John Winston Lennon (English musician and singer-songwriter)
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
Writer's conclusion: This isn't intended to make all ya guys insulted the school system, what I wanna tell you is that most of schools failed to deliver knowledges that their students needed the most: the study of life, and also how to overcome it. Schools, instead of being the place to get educations and knowledges, sometimes are known by their failure to deliver both of them, by strangling ther students with doctrines, rules and ignorances. What's your opinion? Decide yourself.
